About WhiteClouds
WhiteClouds is a Utah-based custom fabrication company built around an unusual challenge: figuring out how to make things that often don't have an obvious way to be made.
We combine advanced technology, AI-assisted tools, digital fabrication and skilled craftsmanship to turn ambitious ideas into finished physical objects.
The tools change from project to project. The objective does not: find the best way to solve the problem.
What We Are
WhiteClouds began with advanced 3D technologies, but the projects we build today rarely fit neatly into a single manufacturing process. Some are enormous. Others require exceptional detail. Some need to be weather-resistant, interactive, portable, illuminated or engineered around transportation and installation.
That is why we combine digital fabrication with traditional model making, sculpting and hands-on fabrication. The materials and methods are selected around what the finished project actually needs to do.
Our work spans custom props, statues and characters, architectural and topographical models, dioramas, dimensional signage, oversized product replicas, exhibits, branded environments and other one-of-a-kind fabricated projects.
The Challenge We Like
Custom fabrication rarely comes with a complete set of instructions. A project may be too large for a conventional process, require an unusual combination of materials, need to travel in sections, survive outdoors, interact with visitors or simply begin with an idea no one has built before.
Those constraints are not exceptions to what we do. They're often the reason clients come to WhiteClouds in the first place.

A WhiteClouds project may begin in software, move through several digital manufacturing processes and finish in the hands of a sculptor, fabricator or painter. We don't see those as competing ways of making things. They're tools that become more powerful when they're used together.
The right solution may involve a machine, software, skilled hands—or all three. We select the combination around what the finished project actually needs.
From Idea to Finished Project
Some clients arrive with detailed CAD files and specifications. Others arrive with a sketch, photograph or idea. There isn't one standard path between concept and finished object.
Define the purpose, size, appearance, environment, durability, interaction and practical requirements of the project.
Investigate materials, technologies and fabrication approaches, then determine structure, processes, breakdowns, finishes and transportation strategy.
Fabricate the project using the right combination of digital production, machinery and hands-on craftsmanship.
Refine surfaces, coatings, textures, paint, graphics, lighting and the details that turn fabrication into a finished object.
Prepare the completed project for crating, freight, assembly and installation as required.

The range of projects WhiteClouds builds requires people with very different skills working toward the same result. Designers, model makers, sculptors, fabricators, painters, production specialists and project managers each bring a different perspective to the work.

We don't have one formula for custom fabrication, but a few ideas shape how WhiteClouds approaches unusual projects, new technologies and the way we work as a company.
The unusual project is often the reason we're here. We break difficult problems apart, investigate the possibilities and look for a practical way forward.
3D printing, CNC machining, foam, metal, traditional sculpting, AI, software or something else entirely—the right tool is the one that helps solve the problem.
Yesterday's best method does not automatically remain tomorrow's. Every department is encouraged to investigate technologies, tools and ways of working that can improve creativity, efficiency, information and decision-making.
Advanced tools can accelerate research, design and production, but experience, judgment and skilled hands are still what turn many projects into convincing finished objects.
