You’re not buying “metal letters.” You’re creating a permanent campus landmark — a photo destination students seek out,
alumni recognize, and donors are proud to attach their name to.
Designed for retrofit work at existing schools and colleges — where budgets come from facilities upgrades, advancement, athletics, and leadership initiatives.
High-visibility entry features that make the campus feel established, modern, and “photo-ready.” Often a facilities + marketing collaboration.
Permanent naming opportunities (“Smith Family Plaza”) that donors can point to for decades. Advancement teams love projects that look meaningful and last.
Stadiums, training centers, gym entries. Fast approvals, high visibility, strong “pride” budgets. Built to handle crowds and weather.
Bundle an entrance landmark + building letters + interior logo wall into a coordinated refresh. One partner, one aesthetic, one timeline.
These installations become part of the campus experience — and they keep paying dividends in visibility, pride, and tradition.
Creates a consistent, photo-ready landmark for prospective students and families.
Becomes a gathering point and recognizable symbol for events, donors, and alumni.
Designed as an engineered outdoor element — not temporary signage.
These installs become highly visible, permanent recognition — and a “photo moment” students actually use.
“In the future, I’m thinking of having a miniature model of it created to give as gifts to people who are donors and benefactors to the school.” — Dave Stec, President, Padua Franciscan High School
Landmark installs succeed when they look right, last, and immediately feel “owned” by the campus or community.
Clarity reduces friction across facilities, marketing/advancement, leadership, and any external contractor.
We confirm goals, location, approximate size, and budget alignment before heavy engineering.
Typography, spacing, finish direction, and site considerations are finalized.
Cutting, forming, welding, prep, and premium finishing in-house.
Coordinated shipping with protective packaging and install guidance.
We’ll recommend the right metal type, thickness, and finish based on location, climate, and how the installation will be used (photo landmark, climbable, entry monument, etc.).
We usually fabricate in aluminum.
Thickness is selected per project. Larger pieces can be built with internal reinforcement and/or produced in sections for transportability.
Premium finishes like Polyurea ULXT66 help resist corrosion, UV/fading, scratching, and general wear in high-traffic public spaces.
Typography, spacing, and color matching aligned to official brand guidelines — so it looks intentional, not improvised.
Metal is often chosen for durability, strength, and unique texture/finish options — especially for outdoor campus features.
We’ll help your team plan install and handling based on site conditions, letter size, and how permanent the placement should be.
Installation method is planned during the bid process. Options may include anchor points, base structures, or brackets depending on whether the letters sit on-grade, attach to a base, or mount to a structure.
For large pieces, we crate and freight-ship to protect finishes and simplify on-site handling. Very large projects can be fabricated in sections for transportability.
Weight depends on size, metal type, thickness, and internal structure. We can design to reduce weight where appropriate.
Projects are shipped for self-installation and we can coordinate on-site installation support depending on scope and location.
We’ll align on access, staging, handling, and schedule so installation is straightforward for your team or contractor.
Now that you’ve seen examples and how it works, share a few project details so our team can scope and price accurately.
A project specialist reviews your details, including files if applicable, may ask additional clarifying questions, and then provides a tailored estimate and next steps.
Answers to the most common questions from facilities teams, marketing/advancement, and campus leadership.
Material selection depends on durability needs, weight targets, aesthetic goals, and corrosion environment. We commonly build in aluminum and steel, and can recommend the best option for your site and budget.
It has become a common practice to finish coating all of our Custom Metal Letters with Polyurea Hard Coating. This optional coating is one of the hardest coatings (reaching a 60 on the Shore D Hardness Scale) that is most commonly sprayed onto outdoor use surfaces to provide maximum protection against bumps and scratches as well as weather erosion and damages. Visit our Polyurea ULXT66 Hardcoat page for detailed information on its benefits as well as FAQs.
Other quality finishes are available to prevent any damage ranging from full-color automotive paint to powder coating. They also come in a variety of textures such as clear, brushed, chrome, polished, satin, oxidized, or vintage. We are also able to match a specific color code or airbrush gradients. Browse our Metal Letters page for more examples of our finishes.
Timeline depends on size, engineering complexity, and finish. After approval, most projects fall into a multi-week fabrication window. If you have a date-driven event (commencement, campaign launch), tell us early so we can plan accordingly.
We can fabricate very large installations. The practical constraint is transportability and site handling. For extra-large projects, we may produce in sections to make shipping and installation easier.
Weight is project-specific and depends on size, metal type, thickness, and internal reinforcement. We can often reduce weight by adjusting material and structure while preserving durability and aesthetics.
Installation method is planned during bidding and depends on placement (on-grade, on a base, or mounted). Large freestanding pieces may include welded brackets or engineered anchoring points for bolting to concrete or structural elements.
Yes. Large pieces are typically crated and shipped freight. We coordinate packaging and delivery requirements to protect finishes and simplify handling on arrival.
Depending on scope and location, projects may ship for self-installation or include coordinated on-site installation support. We’ll align on what your facilities team or contractor prefers.
Yes. We can build to custom typography and match colors based on your brand standards. If you have specific font files and brand guidelines, include them during quoting or after initial budget alignment.
Surface temperature depends on finish color and exposure (similar to how darker car colors get hotter in sun). We can discuss placement, finish selection, and touch-safe considerations as needed.
We can also put on a slightly textured hard coat finish called Polyurea ULXT66 that keeps the surface from getting too hot (amongst several other benefits).
