Dobby is one of the most beloved characters in the Harry Potter franchise. From his introductory words, “Harry Potter, such an honor it is.” to his heartbreaking final utterance, “Such a beautiful place, to be with friends. Dobby is happy to be with his friend, Harry Potter.” The heroic and fiercely loyal house-elf has snapped his magic little fingers into the hearts of many fans.
Though it would be fun to say that he did, Dobby did not just apparate to Whiteclouds.
Whiteclouds’ designer Jack Staley captured Dobby’s likeness and then sent him to our Creality 3D FDM print farm. Jack chose to model the iconic pose that Dobby struck when disarming Narcissa Malfoy, at Malfoy Manor, that ultimately saved the lives of his friends.
Fabrication involved approximately 40 hours of design work, 300 hours of print time, six rolls of PLA filament, proprietary hand finishing techniques, and some high quality airbrushing. This green-eyed elf stands at 3.5 feet tall and even has a handmade body-covering! What you see in these images is the resulting product of an incredible effort to create a life-like replica of such an endearing creature.
