WhiteClouds created a stacked CEDAR RAPIDS metal letter display for the City of Cedar Rapids civic campus. The installation rises approximately 7 feet overall, with individual letters measuring about 4.5 feet high and 16 inches deep. The finished installation stacks two lines of letters on separate concrete bases.
A city name organized in two monumental rows
CEDAR sits above RAPIDS, allowing the full city name to occupy a compact footprint while retaining large individual characters. Warm orange-red faces contrast with darker sidewalls, making the depth visible across the stacked composition. The separate concrete pads follow the two rows and maintain clear alignment across the lawn setting.

The two-line installation stands beside walkways, flagpoles, lawn, and civic buildings. Walkways, flagpoles, lawn, and civic buildings place the two concrete bases within the public campus setting.
Stacking the city name in two rows turns a long phrase into a compact landmark. CEDAR forms the upper line and RAPIDS the lower, with concrete bases creating a clear separation between the tiers. The row break preserves the full city name while concentrating its footprint.
