PROJECT STORY

8-Foot Illuminated Metal Letters for TSTC

WhiteClouds fabricated four illuminated metal letters for Texas State Technical College's Power and Mechanical Center. Each TSTC character stands approximately eight feet tall. The completed display combines dimensional metal forms with red, white, and black color treatment and integrated lighting. The letters are positioned together at the campus facility as one four-character installation.

Eight-Foot TSTC Letter Scale

The project consists of four separate characters: T, S, T, and C. At approximately eight feet high, the letters operate as freestanding dimensional objects rather than standard building-mounted signage.

The open counters and angled strokes in the TSTC lettering remain part of the enlarged forms. Visible depth along the sides gives the characters a substantial profile in daylight and provides space for the illuminated treatment.

Red, White, and Black Letter Design

The completed letters use white face areas, red interior surfaces, and dark outer profiles. That arrangement follows the college's red, white, and black visual language while keeping the four characters consistent as one set.

The color arrangement follows the geometry of each character. White face areas occupy the broad front planes, red surfaces add depth inside the forms, and dark profiles define the outer edges.

Integrated Illumination

Integrated lighting illuminates the dimensional TSTC letters after dark. During daylight, the same red, white, and black surfaces define the four characters.

Placement at the Power and Mechanical Center

The finished letter set is positioned at Texas State Technical College's Power and Mechanical Center. The facility and surrounding campus provide the final setting for the eight-foot display.

For a future illuminated-letter project, foundations, anchoring, lifting, electrical connection, and on-site installation should be assigned before production. Site access and power responsibilities belong in the initial scope.

Planning Illuminated Metal Letters

Pricing begins with approved letter artwork, overall dimensions, day and night color references, and a measured placement plan. WhiteClouds also needs the access route, installation division of responsibility, power requirements supplied by the project team, and delivery schedule.

  • Provide vector files and a scaled site elevation.
  • Define the target height, depth, and total span.
  • Identify supports, power, engineering, and installation responsibilities.
  • Include access limits, deadline, and shipping destination.
