A giant number display is more than several enlarged digits placed side by side. The type style, relative widths, spacing, baseline, depth, and support need to work as one physical composition from the intended viewing distance.

Start with the exact digits and one approved type system
Supply the full number sequence rather than one sample digit. A 1, 3, 8, and 0 do not occupy the same width or create the same openings, so the complete set is needed to judge spacing and balance.
Identify the approved typeface or original drawing, then state whether the numerals should look clean and geometric, soft and rounded, dimensional and beveled, or deliberately irregular. Confirm that any supplied font or branded artwork is cleared for the intended use.

A consistent system still leaves room for deliberate hierarchy.
Shared baseline
Align the feet of every digit when the sequence should read as a stable line from one principal view.
Deliberate stagger
Offset height or depth only when the approved composition calls for movement and the order remains unmistakable.
Counter openings
Check the interior spaces in 0, 6, 8, and 9 at the actual viewing distance so they do not close visually.
Individual pieces
Separate numerals can be rearranged, but each needs its own defined footprint, orientation, and relationship to the group.
Measure the entire sequence, not only one number
Set the overall width with the intended gaps included. If the display turns a corner, steps across levels, or wraps around another object, provide a plan and front elevation showing every digit in place.
Choose whether the support should read as one continuous base, several discreet bases, or an integration with a supplied scenic platform. A support approach should follow the actual number shapes rather than assuming that every digit balances the same way.
Compare a dense celebration set with a spaced outdoor composition
One concept groups colorful numerals tightly around a single focal zone. The other spreads freestanding digits across a wider baseline, making the gaps and individual footprints more prominent.
