Seven steel letters spelled RUMBAZO across the outdoor grounds of the annual Latin music and culture festival in downtown Las Vegas. WhiteClouds fabricated each letter at approximately 72 inches tall and 12 inches deep, then paired it with an individual steel base and a two-tone automotive finish.
Seven freestanding forms with one continuous wordmark
Each letter functions as a separate three-dimensional object, but spacing and alignment allow the full festival name to read across the installation. The six-foot height puts the top of the wordmark above people standing beside it while keeping the open letterforms visible in photographs.
Color changes from letter to letter, with contrasting face and side treatments. That arrangement preserves the lively event palette without losing the outlines of the individual R, U, M, B, A, Z, and O forms.
Plasma-cut panels welded into twelve-inch-deep letters
WhiteClouds cut the 12-gauge steel components with CNC plasma equipment and welded them into dimensional forms. At roughly 12 inches deep, the sides remain visible across angled views rather than disappearing behind the faces.
The assembled letters were prepared and finished with two-tone automotive paint. The two-tone automotive finish produced red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink combinations across the letter set.
Eight-inch bases extending thirty inches deep
Each letter attached to a steel base approximately 8 inches tall and 30 inches deep. The bases created defined support footprints across the event surface while allowing the seven forms to be positioned as one line.
A future outdoor letter project requires approved artwork, target height and depth, expected interaction, engineering criteria, ground conditions, finish colors, transport divisions, installation access, destination, and event dates.
Built for Rumbazo in downtown Las Vegas
Rumbazo is held during Mexican Independence Day weekend as a Latin music and culture festival. The complete set stretched across the outdoor festival grounds, where its six-foot scale remained clear beside attendees.
