A single dimensional W marks the Waterford School campus in Utah. WhiteClouds fabricated the metal letter as a permanent outdoor landmark, giving the school's initial enough depth and scale to stand independently within the landscape rather than function as conventional facade lettering.
One initial resolved as a complete outdoor object
Because the installation contains only one character, the angles and spacing inside the W carry the full identity. The broad upper strokes narrow toward the middle, then return to a stable base, creating a form that remains recognizable from the front and from oblique views.
The dark face and dimensional sides separate the letter from grass, trees, mountains, and changing sky conditions. The W functions both as a stand-alone landmark and as a setting for group photographs.
Placed in the landscape as a permanent landmark
The installed letter occupies an open campus site rather than a wall or sign cabinet. That placement allows people to approach it from several directions and makes the surrounding landscape part of every view.

Planning a freestanding school or alumni landmark
A permanent campus letter requires approved artwork, target height and depth, finish colors, viewing directions, site survey data, engineering criteria, ground and foundation conditions, installation access, destination, and schedule. Group-photo use should also be identified early because it affects placement and clear space around the form.
