WhiteClouds fabricated the dimensional M-shaped monster used in a Grow Financial Federal Credit Union billboard campaign. Dunn&Co. developed the campaign concept, Clear Channel Outdoor participated in the billboard execution, and WhiteClouds produced the 19-foot-tall by 18-foot-wide foam form installed in Florida.

Campaign object

A letterform converted into a three-dimensional monster

The design begins with a large capital M and extends it into a character with eyes, teeth, legs, arms, and a shaggy outer profile. That structure keeps the campaign letter recognizable while giving it enough depth and silhouette to project beyond the printed billboard field.

The creature spans most of the board, with its limbs and feet crossing the lower edge. Its multicolor surface separates the raised features from the blue campaign background and preserves the face at road-viewing distance.

Scale and fabrication

An eighteen-foot span built from foam

At 19 feet high and 18 feet wide, the fabricated element had to be divided into manageable forms while preserving one continuous character when assembled. Foam provided the sculptural volume needed for the thick letter, facial forms, limbs, and irregular fur-like edge.

Changes in color and contour helped the separate sculpted sections read as one oversized creature across the face of the billboard.

Outdoor record

The installed display remained through two Florida hurricanes

The completed billboard was installed in Florida and remained in place through two hurricanes.

Future projects require site-specific structural review, attachment engineering, wind criteria, access planning, and coordination with the billboard operator. Those requirements should be defined for the actual location before fabrication and installation.

Related capability

Planning a dimensional billboard element

A useful billboard package includes final campaign artwork, sign dimensions, the areas that project beyond the printed face, desired depth, approved attachment zones, installation access, site conditions, destination, and deadline. Early coordination among the creative team, fabricator, billboard operator, and engineer keeps the visible form aligned with the installation plan.
