A pocket-sized writing instrument became a floor-standing product display in this WhiteClouds commission for Pen Company of America. The replica follows the long profile of a Garland Executive pen and holds it vertically, allowing the barrel, clip, cap, and point to be read as parts of the same enlarged object.

Product translation

The pen profile carried into a vertical display

The tall format preserves the proportions that make the source product recognizable. Gold-toned surfaces run through the barrel and trim, while dark components separate the cap, grip, and circular base.

Brand and product details remain visible at the enlarged scale. The complete silhouette remains readable from the side, including the clip, point, and contrasting surfaces.

Presentation

A giant replica designed to be seen from several angles

The pen is mounted upright rather than laid across a platform. That orientation reduces the floor footprint while keeping the product form at eye level through much of the display.

A spinning base allows the freestanding replica to present more than one side without changing its position on the floor.

Project planning

What defines an accurate oversized product replica

A pen replica depends on more than overall length. The source model, cap-to-barrel ratio, clip shape, point, trim locations, supplied graphics, color references, viewing distance, and preferred orientation all belong in the fabrication brief.

The display plan should also identify whether the object will stand vertically or horizontally, whether the base needs movement, the venue access route, destination, and required delivery date.
